IPL applies rapid pulses of light energy at different wavelengths to the treatment area. The light is absorbed by the targeted chromophores, for example pigmentation in sunspots or freckles to break them up and remove them or water within the skin to initiate a collagen building response.
How does it work?
No, it is not painful, but you will feel a “flicking” type sensation often described as a rubber band flicking the skin.
Is it painful?
No. IPL Skin Rejuvenation requires no downtime. You can resume your normal daily activities immediately afterwards. Some redness may occur which will settle within a few hours. During your initial consultation you will be provided with appropriate aftercare instructions.
Is there any downtime?
Most clients enjoy long lasting results. The rejuvenating processes that are initiated within the treatment continue for months after your treatment. A treatment plan may be recommended initially with maintenance treatments every 6-12 months.
